Volunteering in the Adult ESL Classroom

Date: Thursday, January 17, 2019

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Location: Minnesota Literacy Council main office, 700 Raymond Avenue, Suite 180, Saint Paul, MN 55114

Cost: There is no fee for this training, but your tax-deductible donation will support our tutor training program and literacy learners across Minnesota!

Description: Whether you are a new or experienced classroom assistant, this workshop will help you develop your teaching skills so that you can better support the classroom teacher and learners. Gain practice leading common ESL classroom activities and understanding best practices, explaining vocabulary, leading a reading group, error correction, encouraging students to think and problem-solve, and working with ESL teachers. If you have attended the 12-hour ESL Pre-Service Training, you do not need to attend this in-service.

To Register: Your $10 or $20 donation will help us do more to share the power of learning! Click "Add" next to one of the two "Register with a donation" options to make a tax-deductible gift. If you do not wish to make a donation, choose "Register for free."
