Professional Development Funds

Lead and learn

Each member of the Minnesota Literacy Council VISTA cohort started the service year with $150 in professional development funds. This money can be used for fees and transportation associated with professional development opportunities related to service projects. Before attending an event, you must get approval from MLC staff and follow the procedure for accessing PD funds.

See the directions, form, and example at the bottom of the page, as file attachments.

Spring is an especially busy time for trainings and workshops around the Twin Cities, and it's also a great time in the year to take advantage of your PD funds! Now that you have a handle on your project and some real momentum going, intentionally seek out ways to contribute new ideas, skills, and perspectives to your final months of national service. One of these events might be just the place to start...
