GED® Connections: A Teachers’ Guide for Preparing Adults with Middle School Reading Levels for the RLA Test

This unique and comprehensive teaching guide is designed for adults with middle school reading levels who are studying for the Reading and Language Arts GED® test. The guide aligns to both the GED® Assessment Targets and the College and Career Readiness Standards. The seven modules in the guide are organized around high interest thematic social studies and science topics and each module takes approximately two to three months to complete. Students will read closely, think critically, and make intertextual connections in discussions and writing. The guide is designed to accommodate adult learners who may not be able to attend every class and is suitable for use with advanced English language learners.

In the GED® Connections e-book you will find these seven thought-provoking modules:

  1.      Obesity
  2.      How Choices Affect the Environment
  3.      Checks and Balances in Action
  4.      Civil Rights
  5.      What is the Government’s Role in Reducing Poverty?
  6.      Immigration through Fact and Fiction
  7.      College
