National Geographic Official National Geographic site has text, photos, and videos on a variety of topics: animals, environment, history, kids, maps, news, people & places, photography, video, and world music.  Scroll down to lower right and find Educator links including classroom resources. 
National Park Service Official U.S. Department if Interior website on National Park Service.  Contents include history, culture, nature, and science.  Classroom and research materials plus games about national parks available.  Solid literacy skills required as all materials are written.
National Women's History Project Site has information about Women's History Month and a Resource Center (see links on upper left).  Resource Center topics include: biography, women's rights movement, great speeches, honored latinas, performers, authors, pathbreakers, history quiz and more. 
NCES Kids Zone This is part of the official site for the National Center for Education Statistics.  Find a college, create a graph, learn about probability, and more.  The Dare to Compare tab asks students choose a level and take a test which will compare their knowledge to that of learners around the world.
NCTM Standards This site is the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the official site of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.  There is a list of math standards and expectations by grade, along with examples and explanations of how the objectives can be taught at different levels. 
New York Times Teaching and Learning New York Times articles and free features for students like the Article of the Day, News Quiz and Student Opinion. Educators can read up to five lesson plans from our library, free each month.
News stories and questions Story Modules and Comprehension Activities: As provided by CNN SF and CBS 5. Intended for adults with moderate reading and speaking comprehension skills including advanced ESL or non-native English speakers.
NewseumED The Newseum Institute, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the education and outreach partner of the Freedom Forum and the Newseum. The Institute includes the First Amendment Center, the Religious Freedom Center and NewseumED, an online learning platform for teachers and students. The First Amendment Center conducts the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup First Amendment Moot Court; produces the State of the First Amendment national survey and its quarterly First Amendment Report Card; works with the federal judiciary to improve the flow of news about the courts to the public; and hosts programs to help the public and the media understand one other better.

Northstar Digital Literacy Project The Northstar Digital Literacy Project provides job seekers with certificates in recognition of their digital literacy skills. O*Net OnLine While not a job posting site, O*NET OnLine was created for the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, by the National Center for O*NET Development and has detailed descriptions of the world of work for use by job seekers.
Old Sturbridge Village Old Sturbridge Village is a museum in New England.  Under Education they curriculum plans and under For Kids there are puzzles and games around historical topics.

Online Writing Lab at D'Youville College This site offers help with sentence construction, parts of speech, and punctuation.  Explanation followed by self-correcting online activities.

Oxford University Press Adult ESL This site provides online activities , English Language Teachers Club and Learning Resources.
OZSpeller This site has spelling practice and a keyboard tutor.  The spelling practice has audio, definitions, and hints and is organized by grade K-6 and advanced.  The words can be listened to  repeatedly as the student tries to spell them.  The keyboard tutor starts with a simple 'keyhunt' game and becomes more difficult. 
Parapal Online This British site has interactive lessons on a variety of topics: letter/email writing, listening, vocabulary, business English, and picture dictionary exercises.
PBS Official Public Television site has videos, photos, and articles about a number of topics including: arts & drama, history, home & hobbies, life & culture, news & views, and science & nature. 
Pioneer Press online Pioneer Press newspaper online- sports, business, life & culture, travel, jobs, cars, homes, ads.
Plimoth Plantation This website is about the Plimoth Plantation, one of the earliest colonial English settlements and the Native American people in the area.  There are online articles, recipes, stories, and more.  Under the Educational Programs tab, there is the Online Learning Center which has a multi-media activity called, ''You Are the Historian- Investigating the First Thanksgiving.''
