Teaching Tolerance, a magazine and project of the Southern Poverty Law Center that focuses on diversity, intercultural learning, and anti-racism initiatives, has a new curriculum available online for free: Perspectives for a Diverse America. The curriculum is designed for grades K-12 and is literacy-based. With this curriculum, you can select learning goals and develop questions to help prompt students' critical thinking around bias, identity, diversity and social justice; find texts that meet Common Core requirements and also add diverse voices and perspectives or include a social justice element; and tap into activities and assessments designed to help students apply their learning - all while building critical literacy skills.
