Diversity and Inclusion Statement

The Minnesota Literacy Council knows that diversity and inclusion in our organizational culture is vital to the success of our work. We strive to foster positive learning environments for all by eliminating institutional policies that uphold systems of power and privilege, as well as by providing continuous opportunities for education and self-reflection to our staff, board members and volunteers.

Diversity includes many dimensions of experience and identity: age, gender, education, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, personality and talents. Inclusion is the practice of embracing these differences and valuing the contributions that diverse perspectives can bring to our work and our lives.
